TauMark W Series: Automated and Continuous Processing of Large Component Batches

Written by Taumac | Nov 5, 2026, 8:41:46 AM

In high-volume production, marking quality is just one of the factors that determine the overall efficiency of the process. When thousands of components must be processed every day, speed of execution, operational continuity, and the ability to minimize downtime become equally important.

In settings where large batches of products must be processed, manual operations such as loading, unloading, and positioning parts often significantly extend processing times—even when the marking process itself takes only a few seconds. Taumac’s W Series was developed specifically to address the need to reduce the time required for the physical handling of components, thereby helping to increase plant productivity. It is a platform designed for the automatic laser marking of large production batches, capable of handling pallets and trays autonomously, reducing operator intervention and maximizing the throughput of the entire process.

A platform designed for batch processing of components

Unlike traditional marking stations, TAUMAC’s W Series was developed to handle large quantities of components organized on pallets. The platform is available in various configurations, capable of handling up to 15 large pallets in the TauMark WL15 version, up to 15 pallets in the TauMark W15 version, and up to 72 pallets in the TauMark W72 configuration, thus adapting to a wide range of production needs.

One of the system’s distinctive features is its automatic tray handling: the parts to be marked are organized within dedicated pallets and then processed sequentially. This eliminates the need for constant repositioning and allows for maximum utilization of the time actually spent on marking, reducing ancillary tasks that typically slow down the process.

The ability to load and unload while the machine is running further enhances the system’s efficiency: the operator can prepare the next pallets without interrupting the production cycle, while the machine continues to operate autonomously. The result is a significant reduction in cycle time and an increase in throughput, which is particularly important for companies engaged in mass production and high-volume operations.

The machine’s ability to operate for long periods without supervision directly impacts OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), improving plant availability and helping to reduce operating costs associated with manual tasks.

Vision System and Automation to Ensure Quality and Continuity

The W Series lasers incorporate vision systems designed to automatically center the marking on each part, thereby ensuring marking quality and the precision of the final result.

The camera captures the actual position of the component and automatically adjusts the processing, compensating for any positioning tolerances. This allows for maintaining high quality standards even during very large-scale production runs and reduces the risk of operational errors.

The system features a high-resolution camera with a field of view of up to 70 x 50 mm, which provides the operator with a real-time view of the work area and simplifies setup and quality control operations.

The combination of automation and machine vision makes the W Series lasers particularly effective in industrial traceability, serialization, and automatic marking applications. Automatic component handling also ensures consistent machine performance over time, regardless of production volumes, promoting greater process stability and reducing the need for corrective actions.

A flexible solution that adapts to production requirements

The W Series lasers are highly customizable to meet customer needs and requirements; in fact, the platform can be equipped with various laser sources, including Fiber, MOPA, Green, UV, CO₂, and Pico technologies, with powers up to 200 W.

This flexibility allows the system to address different production needs and expand the machine’s range of applications over time. In addition to marking, the system can be configured to perform 3D engraving or integrate laser welding processes, while for particularly complex applications, six-axis robots dedicated to component handling and orientation can beintegrated.

The entire process is managed, at the software level, by a proprietary solution developed by TAUMAC, designed to offer intuitive process management and allow for modifications or programming even while the laser is in operation. Remote monitoring tools and integrated reporting also allow you to analyze production performance and identify any steps that can be optimized.

TAUMAC technicians can help you identify the configuration best suited to your production volumes, based on your products’ characteristics and your company’s efficiency goals.
